What is meant by Rx level and what is its practical application?

Dear rahul

Rx level means the received power by any receiver from certain transmitter, it is measured by mw or dBm.

The practical application is that it can be used for measuring the received level by mobile station from base station to check the coverage of this site

Dear rahul

The Rx level depends on many factors such as the losses and gains of both the transmitted and received antenna, also it depends on the path loss between the transmitter and receiver which is affected by many factors such as the terrian, the distance between the transmitter and receiver, the frequency used, the height of the transmitted and received antenna, also it depends on the transmitted power value

Dear rahul

The mathematical formula for the RX level is:

Pr=Pt+Gt-Lp+Gr

where: Pr: RX level
Pt: transmitted power
Gt: gain of transmitter antenna
Gr: gain of receiver antenna
Lp: path loss between the transmitter and receiver

Lp has many mathematical formauls due to many propagation models, which differs from each other due to frequency(900 or 180-0 MHz) or area type(dense urban, urban, suburban, rural), no one saves all these formulas of the path loss for different models but onle know which parameters increase or decease the loss
