Hi

Can somebody tell me what is an infrared diode?
are all infrared diodes LEDs?
i know nothing about it

Re: infrared diode

infra red diode is a diode that its reverse current increases with infra red light, more the infra red light intensity, more the diode reverse current.

But LED is abbreviation for (Light Emitting Diode). Infra red diodes do not emit any light. they are sensitive to infrared light.

There is some LEDs that emit light in infra red band.
