What is a class 1 power amplifier?

Hi,
I have just read an article in which class-1 power amplifier is used. I have never heard about this before? Can anyone kindly explain it? Thanks.

In some application the power amplifier are categorized by output power.
For instance the bluetooth is divided into 3 power classes:

Class 3 = 0 dBm
Class 2 = 4 dBm
Class 1 = 20 dBm

This is exact what I am doing, class 1 - bluetooth.
I was confused for a while because I only see class A, B, C, AB,... before.
