What can be the range of the PCB or a chip antenna when enclosed in plastic cabinet?

Hello,

Has anybody here tried out a PCB antenna for a handheld device. Especially for Zigbee or IEEE 802.11 b/g. What can be the range of the PCB or a chip antenna
when it is enclosed in plastic cabinet.
