Rules for pin marking ?

Hi members,

in our company we had today a discussion over the layout indication of component pins.

In the company we have since a long time a simple rule,
the case marking is to be harmonized with the characterized PAD (most sqare).

For example:

Diode case marking = kathode = characterized PAD
tantalum case marking = positiv pin = characterized PAD
LED case marking or short pin = kathode = characterized PAD
electrolyte condenser case marking = negativ pin = characterized PAD
connector case marking = pin 1 = characterized PAD
IC's case marking = pin 1 = characterized PAD

Who knows whether it has a general rule or an international standart for that?

I regarded with various circuit boards of other companies and could no rule detect. 8O

THX in advance for your infos
