What is the differences between this LED and the LED display such as attached image (0.345)?

Is there any specific name for them?

1) Those are discrete LEDs (light-emitting-diodes)

2) That display is an LCD (Liquid-Crystal-Display)

They are both LEDs, the 7-segment digit display has one or more single LEDs (like in the second picture) inside the plastic to light up a single segment (bar) of the digit. Obviously, the plastic is molded into a different shape but the bit in the middle that produces the light is identical.
