What are digital delay chips and how can I used them for phase generator?

what is Digital delay chips and how can i used it for phase generator any suggestions

usually digital delay circuit can generate delayed version of the input signal
and we can control this delay by digit word

digital delay is related to input signal delay...........

The digital delay always related to timers, which cause interrupt when the timer reach overflow, it's starts from difinite value
