ARM Processors is a software engine.. ARM never manufacturers IC's.....

A set of software engine was ported on a general purpose 32 bit processor by a team of people in ARM limited..
When it was named Acorn it did porting for 16bit, but when later ACORN was named as ARM it did with 32bit.

ARM gives the proprietery of these processors to companies such as NXP, and other companies, who manufacture 32 bit controllers..

Each controller has its own register set which needs to be configured in the program by the developer in order to use it....
