VTRAN Version 10.3 Major Release: SmarTest 8 Support

We are pleased to announce that earlier last month, Source III released a major update to our VTRAN Software Bundle functionality. After over 2 years of development working directly with Advantest, VTRAN now offers Advantest SmarTest8 Support.

This functionality allows our customers to use our tool to assist them with their vector translations from WGL, STIL and vcd/evcd patterns to the Advantest V93000 SmartTest8 test environment, and includes:

• Advantest V93000 SmarTest8 Writer
• Advantest V93000 SmarTest8 ReadBack module

The ReadBack module can be used to generate a Verilog or VHDL TestBench file for use in validating the test program. For those that need assistance in using the VTRAN 10.3 Software Bundle for their Advantest SmarTest support, we have tips and assistance available in our 10.3 Release Notes.

Additional Functionality

In addition to this major update, we also have added several features that our clients have requested over the past several months. Some of these updates include:

• Enhancement to the STIL reader:
• New Capability for passing // comments and /* */ comments in addition to Annotations.
• New COMMENT_FILTER that provides the customer with several ways to control which comments in the file get passed through to the target output file.
• New Support of Frequency-based timing in Timing blocks.
• Teradyne Writer improvements, including PROTOCOL_AWARE support, frequency-based timing, scan structure preservation, and new variables that can be specified for cycle period or cycle frequency.
• MERGE_FILE -CONCATENATE feature now supports VCD/EVCD input files.

Current VTRAN customers with subscription licenses and customers with an active maintenance contract have been sent a new 10.3 license key which is necessary for this new release.
