Hi,
I am a freshman and doing some digital design now. After Place and Route with Encounter, I exported a DEF file. Then import this DEF file into Virtuoso. Everything is OK except the via array on power ring is missing. Why? how to solve it?
Ask a favor... thanks!

Since a few years all cadence IC tools using OA datafiles so You don't need to export/import anything.
Which version of encounter/virtuoso You are using?

Thanks for your reply. I am using Encounter ver.12 and IC615.
Yes, the layout could be saved as OA file in encounter. you mean that I could use this OA file directly in Virtuoso?

It's possible that the translation is not hip to the array
structure (Cadence has "array" and "mosaic" ways to step
and repeat an element such as vias, way back when the
mosaic sometimes gave us problems). You might want to
go and flatten>make_cell (resulting in polygon-only data
needing no evaluation of code) for anything that does
not come across clean according to a layout:layout XOR.

Yes, exactly. You need only take care about library definitions in cds.lib file
