Hi all,

I wanted to know how a library is validated. What all are verified in a library? If something is missing (like a timing arc or power info), how it should be identified.
Is there any tool that will do library validation or it has to be done manually?

Thanks in advance!

Characterization tools do a set of verification followed by Synopsys timing tools do some. It is a collective QA process and there are companies like Crossfire(Fractal) who do QA of the library. This is a big area of EDA where most companies who make their libraries have their own set of scripts to handle all the QA.
