Can I use SPI circuits (i.e.) memories and not loose ISP functionality since same pins are used, or do I need to switch in an AVR application?

SPI on AVR

Yes you can do this but the ISP needs to be sufficiently protected from the application circuitry. You can do this with a D-latch type chip or some other means of isolation.

Re: SPI on AVR

Hello

You can also use diodes such as1N4148 to isolate ISP and circuitry, which is more cost effective and easier to handle when designing a PCB for your project.

Regards

Re: SPI on AVR

Yes, sure you can... i've done it with 300 to 1K ohm resistor in series between ISP and circuit!
