Using NTC or PTC thermistor for Home Security System

M doing a project of Micro controller..."HOme Security system"..in which i want to use Thermistor....but i am confused in using NTC or PTC....

plz tell which one i used....

I think it hardly matters, so long as you know what it is and its characteristics, and suitability of its range for your application.

I am agreed with Laktronics and add that NTC are comparatively cheaper.

Plzz tell me wat is the purpose of REED switch in the circuit...

A reed switch activates in a magnetic field. i.e. It can be activated when a permanent magnet comes near it or sometime specific number of turns of a wire (a coil) wound on it and it activated when a DC supply connected to that coil.
