Use of this resistor in oscillator of Stm32f429zit6 Discovery development board

Hi,

With the use of this resistor you may optimize on start up time or you may optimize on power consumption.

The resistor is not mainly related to the microcontroller but to the used XTAL.

Thus I recommend to read through the application information of the XTAL you decide to use.
Each XTAL manufacturer usually provide such documents.
