unmapped key point

Hi all,

I heard "unreachable" in Conformal mean the register do not contribute to output. But what's "unmapped point" in Conformal mean? Does it mean after synthesis, the net-list have no such point? And what's difference with "unreachable" and "unmapped"?

Thanks,
Davy

conformal unreachable point

Again, answering an old question to a user.

This is an excerpt from the Conformal User Guide:

Unmapped Points
After Conformal maps key points, the remaining unmapped points are
classified into one of three categories: extra, unreachable, or not-mapped.
1. Extra unmapped points are key points that are present in only one
of the designs, Golden or Revised.
2. Unreachable unmapped points are key points that do not have an
observable point, such as a primary output.
3. Not-mapped unmapped key points are key points that are reachable
but do not have a corresponding point in the logic fan-in cone of the corres-
ponding design.

I am guessing that you may have unmapped points in the designs. It probably was'nt mapped because Conformal-LEC could'nt find a corresponding point or it will verify that it was redundant in the compare stage. If it could'nt find a corresponding point then you may be missing reading in a module or cell.
