hi all,

I decided to learn operating systems ,
I tried many modern books but it's difficult,
so I decided to go back when the UNIX was
made so my question is what's the hardware
platform that UNIX was working on ???
if it worked on many Hardware platform what's
the platform that constitutes the roots of Intel
evolution if exist??


Another question, I think the old books since Unix
have reached the public domain (> 20 years passed)
where to find these engineering books that should have
reached the public domain

I tried many modern books but it's difficult,

Well textbooks give certain leverage, but collaberative work helps.
Best example is Linux and Haiku. Another good example is Menuet OS.

so I decided to go back when the UNIX was

Well as far as my knowledge goes, Books are not public domain. though you can get several book as Used Books or in librarys.
