please let me know what is the best unix based OS for scripting perl and C languages.

i also need to install EDA tools.
please advise what will be the best EDA tool for schematic capture and simulation, and the unix based OS to use.
shall i consider solaris?
btw, i am using dell d800 laptop.

CAN U PLEASE BE MORE CLEAR OF WHAT U WANT EXACTLY?
LINUX IS THE BEST OS IN MY OPINION.
ELDO IS GOOD FOR BOTH SCHEMATIC CAPTURE AND SIMULAITON.
ADIT IS TOO GOOD FOR LARGER CIRCUITS.
ELDO IS ENOUGH FOR SMALLER CIRCUITS AND IT IS MUCH BETTER THAN HSPICE.
