Hi,

I have been trying to understand how class-E amplifiers work. All the books/articles which i have read just give mathematical derivation of class-E. However, no where i have found an intuitive explanation of Class-E operation. Can somebody explain how class E amplifier works.

regards

Hi,

Explanation given in above link does not provide information on how capacitors/inductors charge and discharge. I tried to do simulations of class E amplifier at 100MHz clock. Simulation results of different voltages and currents are shown in images attached. Can somebody explain how these waveforms are coming.
