Unable to read data from MAX232 Board

What is the solution to read data from max232 board which is used to communicate between two control boards? I am using this max232 for communication between vending machine's control board and raspberry pi 3. I want to read the data that what exact command/data receive from the vending machines's control board?

There is no such data in their datasheet that how will I read the MAX232 Board.
When I tried to read through the converter cable then MAX232 has stopped working with the vending machine.

Are you aware that we don´t know which vending machine you are talking about, which "MAX232 board" you use, wich converter cable you use, what software you use, what port setup you use?

How can we help?

Hi,

you did not read any basic RS232 documentation yet? Then it´s time for it.

--> usually UART communication needs
* Rx connected to Tx and
* Tx connected to Rx

Check pin names and signal directions. Check where and how they need to be crossed.

In your connection diagram the converter cable is missing.
