UART Message Reception on dsPIC30 micro

Hey,

I have been trying to get my computer to transmit messages to a dsPIC30 micro. however, i am unsure how to set up the baudrate.

in the code i have set BRG = 64 but what setting must i choose on the computer?

i am using RealTerm but i can switch to hyperTerminal if it is easier. Can you please tell me the Baudrate selection on the Hyper terminal / Real Term

The Baud rate will depend on your oscillator frequency. Look at the Microchip document that details the operation of the UART https://ww1.microchip.com/downloads/en/DeviceDoc/Section 19. 70066c.pdf. Section 19.3 describes how to calculate the BRG for a given Baud rate.
