I hope this is the right place to ask this, but can someone help break down the different types of spectrum analyzers and what they are right for? I've got a good grasp on the difference between digital and analog, but I am not sure I understand the difference between digital and real time? I was looking at https://aaroniausa.com/rf-spectrum-analyzer/rf-spectrum-analyzers/hf-8000-v5-rf-spectrum-analyzers/ and they give the specs for the real time analyzers but no real insight on the difference between those and their other model of digital handheld analyzers that have similar specs but are not real time? The difference in price is huge and I'm not sure I want to shell out that extra $ if i don't need to. Thanks.
