Parallel Port Questions

1.) Are all parallel ports have their last three bits of the status register permanently all 0's?

2.) If I am reading 1's on these bits, the last three bits of the status register, is there a way of making these bits to zero? (Aside from explicitly programming it)

Thanks

Parallel Port Questions

You should not make any assumptions about the state of bit syou are not using. The status register is read only. You should mask the bits you are nto using.
