In passing discussions, we came across these. I have not yet explored either, but I will get to it when I can.

The terms are you can distribute it, and modify it for your own use.

There is openEMS, also 3D high speed FTDT solver with a engine using Octave or MathCAD.
It is open source GNU GPL V3, with a CSXCAD component that is GNU LGPL V3
It seems to be multi-threading, which implies capability for distributed computing, which I have come across before in Octave.
Just for some colour - I include the gif image of a cylindrical wave openEMS uses for a logo.
And of course - a link which I hope will stay functional for a reasonable time.
