Hi Everyone,

we have designed one voltage optimizer with the triacs for 210 to 260 voltage range.

it is of 10 kw,

there is problem during inrush at lower load (around 1 amp) but it is working smooth above 2 amp to 40 amp...

but lower the 2 amp it is damaging the triacs.

i dont know about the reason behind this..

does anybody have solution for this..??

plz share some articles for y is this happening..??

Is this "voltage optimizer" a transformer tap changer?

Depending how you have configured it, the transformer's magnetizing current, which is always lagging, will prevent a triac from turning off while the other turns on.
With full load, its power factor will dominate over the magnetizing current, and the resultant will be close enough to unity to allow commutation close to the voltage's zero crossing.
