hello there
i am doing a assignment about transformer overload by using pic microcontroller (pic16f877A) and i donot know what type of sensors i need to use for sensing the overload and over current rating ?
if any buddy knows about plz do let me know thanks in advance

You can use several things to sense overload of transformer.

One sensor can be Hall current sensor, which will detect current on maximum and overcurrent.

Second thing can be measuring temperature on maximum allowed and over that.

But first you should have transformer specification.

you can use current transformer for current sencing in microcontroller you can program the value on which you want to over load.
or you can connect over-current relay with it has switch N.O(normally open) and N.C (NORMALLY CLOSE) YOU CAN USE These
switch for over over load
