Tips to Maintain Laptop Safely

Hi!

I bought new laptop. Some of my friends are giving lot of suggestions about how to handle the laptop and its battery. Some of those suggestions are very interesting but unbelievable. Some of them are saying that it is better to remove the battery while not in use. It is true? Can anyone give few important and useful suggestions and tips to be followed to maintain laptop safely and precautions to be taken to while purchasing the laptop battery?

Only if you are not using it for a very long time and store it in a dry, warm place.
