Hello,

Can this thermometer be placed inside an oven or freezer at 80degC and -30degC respectively.

**broken link removed**

..the datasheet does not say whether it needs a probe to go into the measurement area, or whether the device itself can be physically placed in there.

Won't it be easier to have the probe inside the oven/freezer, and the device itself outside where you can access it?

not really, we use standard ovens and its too hard to get another cable running out. (there are already supply cables running in.

How will you view it? Neither a camera nor an electronic thermometer is rated for these situations.
That's why a probe is strongly recommended.

and it is very unlikely that the thermometer can work over that temperature range - just the external probe (and I am not really certain about that!).
