The mouse can't work rightly under matlab 6.5, why?

I run up matlab 6.5 on redhat 8.0, and everything is right except the mouse. I cannot drag up or down the slip block under matlab window. But I run well in linux or other EDA tools. May you help me or give me any advice? Thanks for your help!
