The difference between signal probe and signal Tap II logic analyser in Quartus

I want the difference between signal probe and signal Tap II logic analyser in altera quartus software.What are these used for.Are they substitutes for logic analyser to observe waveforms in PC itself.I am using byte blaster II cable and cyclone device.Can they be used.Thanking you

i am not really sure on the signal Tap/probe... but wad i can tell u is tht...

u can write ur hdl code, then compile it, then u can use the waveform tools to check the functionality and timing...

Signal tap is subtitute for logic analyzer .
It can be used for observing waveforms in pc using byte blaster for cyclone.

Regarding the signal tab, it can be used for observing some user signal of design on unused pins.
i have not used signal probe uptill now.
