Reed relay or Relay

What is the difference between reed relay and the electro magnetic Relay?

I will used it on 9v or lower and it will drive a 12V circuit.

Re: Reed relay or Relay

It is in the construction. The reed type is small diameter and very long. It has more of a constant impedance and can switch higher frequencies without degrading them.

Re: Reed relay or Relay

Reed relays consist of a coil surrounding a reed switch. Reed switches are normally operated with a magnet, but in a reed relay current flows through the coil to create a magnetic field and close the reed switch.
