when building a Test fixture that has multiple pins sticking up to test for test points and vias

What are the best pins to use?

Because the pins are causing intermittent problems because they aren't thick enough to be touching the copper through hole plating, or the plating is not that great on the PCB boards that are made

What can I do to fix this problem please?

Solder the pins to the PCB. Then there will be a good connection.

i can't , because we are testing 100's of PCB boards a day at work

You have to show the picture of pins, copper through hole platings and pcb boards.
