Techniques to save RAM and ROM

I am using P18f452.
My recent problem is I don't have enough ram and rom to run my whole projects.

Pls provide me some general tips on programming techniques to use RAM and ROM more efficiently.

To give an accurate answer, lacks more details such as the code language used, for instance if C or ASM, as well the compiler IDE on what project was created. Not necessary to say that you could set up proper optimizations levels even on compilation stage.

If possible, post the code, because many tips are inherent to how your program was implemented.
