Hi,
Read about "aoi", automated optical inspection.
It needs high speed image processing with advanced algorithms. Surely not a simple task.
The problem is to find out what details in the picture are relevant to be errors, and find out what details are not relevant to be errors.
Especially position changes (movement, rotation) of the device are problems. Other problems are "micro reflections" on the device.
