Hi,

Does anyone know how serdes does the synchronization with the other end?

Any document, paper or data sheet is highly appreciated.

Regards,

Hi Everybody,
In most cases the communication in serdes is asynchronous. That mean that The receiver and the transceiver are clocked with different clocks. In other cases both receiver and transceiver are clocked with the same clock but there is what we know the problem of skew. So, synchronization is require.
The transceiver use a PLL to serialize the data and encode it, however the receiver use this encoded data to recover the clock and utilise this second clocck to drive the synchonous modules in the deserilizer.

Hope it help
