I have a XFX video board (Nvidia FX 5200 TV-Out ). I need to made a converter s-video to RCA. I have buy the converter in a cable store, but it does not work. Anybody have any data?
Thanks.
If you are here i assume that you have some technical background ??? Do you have a scope .. well if you do .. see what is comming out ...Otherwise get a scope .. !
boy you kids are getting bourgois!
You don’t need any experience to build this adaptor. http://www.hut.fi/Misc/Electronics/circuits/svideo2cvideo.html
Just connect pins 1 and 2 of the S-video connector to the ground and pins 3 and 4 to the central of RCA connector (composite video). In series with pin 4 you have to add a 470pF capacitor.
Be sure that your video output of your video card is still alive. Sometimes the videocard TV-out dies when is connected to a TV-AV input.
Beware when you make the connection between PC and TV, both devices shall be shut-off from the main power (un-plugged).
Good luck
Dear friends:
thank you for your posts.
I know the classical solution for S-video to RCA connection. And, yas I have technical background (I am an engineer).
However, the problem remains. So, I wrote this post thinking that (maybe) this problem is often suffered by XFX video boards and somebody knows how to solve it.
Thanks again.
