hello,

does anyone knows a motor bridge that could be stronger than l298
I cant use this weak crap for almost all my projects, it is soo lame I dont understand why they comercialized

I would need something from 5 to 12V that can go up to 500mA and 2 to 3A stall

thanks

already looked into google, but i wanted a human opinion/experience => reference to a particular ship
I ordered this board : https://www.dx.com/p/hg7881-two-channel-motor-driver-board-blue-green-black-2-5-12v-215795
thx anyways

Hi,

Why do you say the L298 is useless ?

I've regularly used a L298, standard package, not smd, at 1A and have a simple op amp across the current resistor to act as a simple current overload at around 2A along with a 2A slow blow fuse.

Expect it will be have been run at nearly 2A at times so provided you give it a bigger heat sink it should be perfectly ok at your 500ma, 2A stall.

SMD devices are fine for small currents but how can such small devices on small pcb dissipate any heat quickly when called on the handle a large load.

i have a l293de & i have connected it to my microcontroller as shown:
http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-7QojImEYg...jddXMw/s1600/motors-to-l293dne-to-arduino.png
battery is 9v, 180mAH .The voltage produced across the pins (3 & 6 for right wheel motor & 11, 14 for left wheel motor) is perfect i.e around 9v is produced the motor i am using is as here: http://i00.i.aliimg.com/photo/v1/321672894/used_in_Toy_and_robot_TGP02S_A130.jpg
they can operate from 9v-12v.
the pins of l293d produce exactly 9v but, the motor does not rotate.
But when i separately connect battery with motor it runs.
when i connected a led it litted up even when i connected a motor of 3-5v it also worked properly.
But these 9v motors are not running what may b the reason?:???:
