still not very clear as to the astable multivibrator input signal

May be u still have to luk at the question once again. does it mean once the circuit of astable is design, once i click on the run on the multisim platform, then it will start to produce the OFF and ON pulses without any control over it. No switch to control it? it should be clear that i didnt use the RESET pin, so it was connected together with Vcc - pin 8

Why should it be clear? You can use it for on/off control.
