[STA] Late & Early vs Min & Max

Hi All,

Many STA Engineers prefer to use terms "Late & Early" and not "Min & Max". Could someone explain why?

Because dependant of tool the late & early is used instead min & max.
 

Why? as far as I understood, there are situations where "Late & Early" terms are more suitable than "Min & Max". Do you know these situations? Could you please give some examples?
