Square Wave generation from 1Hz - 1Mhz

Hi All,

Can anyone guide me how to generate square wave of 50% duty cycle from 1Hz to 1MHz.
Is there any single chip built in IC to generate square wave.
 

It can be done with CMOS version of the 555-timer ..

Here is an example of a square-wave-generator based on the standard version (should work up to 100kHz):

First, generate 2Hz to 2MHz, then to make perfect 50% duty ratio divide it by two using flip-flops ..

Hi

You can also use a microcontroller timer to divide the main micro oscillator to the desired frequency

Easy to do with the STM32 16 bit timer - Just lock the PLL & set up the timer register

Use the mco output for signal

Do anyone have a ModelSim code to generate square wave based on 3 input(clock,range,control)
clock is 1 MHz
range is 0/1 (KHz/Hz)
control is 3 bit multiplier of clock
