May i know the substrate shield of the spiral inductor needs connect to the ground or not? What is the advantages or disadvantages?

Spiral inductor shileds generaly consist of PS material and must be connected to ground if it's used.Shileds are usually to reduce Eddy current and related to this and to improve the Q factor of the coil.

But in some applications, this shield is tied to Vcc with a special technique what I don't know..

Hi:

Discussing about Inductor shields, I came across an article which suggest a floating shield for stacked spiral inductors to reduce the parasitic coupling capacitor, can anyone comment further on this technique.
