Hello

I am importing the gds file of a spiral inductor from Cadence Virtuoso into HFSS to measure the L and Q values.

The air box did not have a significant impact on the inductance as long as it was above a certain size. (actually there is small change)

But, even the slightest modification to the shape of the return path to which the port is connected can change the inductance value significantly.

Changing the thickness of the rectangle from its original position to the green line or to the red line, even by a small amount, changes the inductance value by tens to 150 pH.

The ideal inductance of spiral inducator is about 500pF. (for on chip onductor)

I would be very grateful if you could tell me how to set the return path.

It was a simulation problem.

I deleted it, imported the exact same GDS file, simulated it, and it worked.

The shape of the port had an effect, but only by a few to a few dozen pH.
