friends I'm using an flexiable pcb in that female connector was damaged..I tired to replace it...
When i tried to connect an ordinary connector using 25W solder iron its damaging..
How to solder the flexiable pcb..?
Or is their any specific connector for flexiable pcb..?
There are so many different Flex PCB connectors that the question is completely useless without additional information, e.g. photos.
Usually Flex PCB connector are soldered to regular (rigid) PCBs to allow connection of a flex PCB (e.g. for board interconnect, flex tail of a touch screen or LCD display). IN some cases, flex PCB are designed to be directly soldered to a main PCB. Please clarify the problem.
Hai friends..
I'm having an flexiable pcb...
I hvae to change the connector connected with flexiable pcb...
I used 25W soldering iron to change the connector..But it damaging it damaging the pcb too...
Hi,
What you have is flexible PCB with silver paint tracks and crimped end connectors, I used such connectors for capacitive keyboards many years ago.
So changing the connector will require to "un crimp" the terminals and crimp the new terminals. Using soldering iron will damage instantly the PCB - the plastic film will melt and probably break the silver paint track. You can recover the broken silver tracks by using conductive paint
If the plastic is broken using silver ink will not work - very soon a new break will occur. In this case I would recommend to use very thin bare copper wires and conductive epoxy - you put two small drops of conductive epoxy on both ends and then you insert the wire. By using this technique I was able to recover large flex PCB broken connectors many times.
