softweare installlation problems

hi,

when i go for installing firefox, i run tar, which creates a folder by firefox in my directory.


after that when i run ./configure nothing happens??????????
why is that

what to do to install firefox then, one more thing i am not seeeing proper resolution for this monitor, how do i change that ???

if u want to install from source

./configure
make
make install

or
install by rumming rpm -ivh < rpm file>

May be you forgot to enter firefox directory?

firefox has a bin file and very easy to install are you dawnload it?

You probobly got the source tar ball, and you probobly don't have eny build utils installed like automake, autoconf, gmake etc.
You're better off geting the binary package from one of your distros repositorys.
