I want to know about the software used for simulation of basic VHDL ....
please reply soon very urgent!!!!

about VHDL...

Either ModelSim or VCS-MX. Arcording to me, VCS-MX is the best due to the system task interface it provides.

Re: about VHDL...

thanks a lot....

Re: about VHDL...

many vendors provide simulators for simulating HDL designs

modelsim by mentor graphics
ISE by Xilinx
ncsim by CADENCE

i am not aware of free simulators which works for all designs

Basically VCS MX is Costlyiest tool in the Industry Because it supports a lot of languages VHDL,Verilog,SystemVerilog,SystemC,DirectC,Perl,TCL etc.

so I think VCS is good for ure need. which supports only VHDL and Verilog few more.

its a synopsys tool there is no demo version availabe on net.If u r newbie in this domain then I will suggest modelsim . and you will get demo version from
www.mentor.com
