SoC Encounter 14.2 vs 8.1

Hello all,

Does SoC Encounter 14.2 has huge improvement in routing over 8.1 version ? I'm working with 45nm standard cell library. I already wrote a script for Encounter 8.1 so does migrating to Encounter 14.2 will much improve routing (given same constraint and design files) ?

Migrating means you have to revisit your scripts, lots of commands and command options are deprecated. Don't expect huge improvements, the reason to use new version of the tool is because of support to new technology, for 45nm it doesn't make much of a difference.
