Hello

I am trying to make a SMPTE timecode reader and later make it into a generator aswell.

I have google'd for every possible thing that I could but I havent found anything practical to see.

I would like to use a microcontroller 8051 or AVR to do this. I dont know how to do this.
Does anyone have any info as to how i can go about this? All I have found is that I can use an external chip ICS2008B which does all the generation and reading.
**broken link removed**

But i want to make something that can be done directly on the microcontroller.

Any help will be useful.
Thanks
