smallest solar panel

Depends on the power you need. I would say the smaller solar type device is a phototransistor or diode that can apply small power based on the light that is provided.

You need to evaluate your system and the power consumption. You could do an array of these smaller photo discrete components. For the smallest solar cells, they would probably be bigger than a watch but a quick trip to Ebay will confirm or deny this.
 

My sharp Calculator from 30 yrs ago still runs well with no batteries and a ~1x3cm PV strip builtin above the LCD display.

But my new Seiko SOLAR Analog watch uses a 2cm circular array of solar cells which appears to be white silk screened with an array of >twenty [+] 's in the diameter
