Hi

Today I have discovered the acryonm - SDIP which can be found in most chips. The question is can I use SPID of microcontroller chip for my hobby. I mean is it possible to insert in any microcontroller's programmer.

Hi Maverickmax,

SDIP is just a long DIP package in 0.3 inch width. Such long packages used to nearly always be 0.6 inch wide.

You can use them.

Cool...

As long as I insert it in a ZIF socket then fix on a solderless breadboard.

Is that ok?

Yes, that's fine. I do not use a ZIF, I just plug it straight into the breadboard.

Cheers,
FoxyRick.

Well guys,

According to me, S-DIP means Shrink-DIP, which is smaller than the ordinary DIPs.

So, we cannot use it on any solderless board, unless the holes are made perfectly for the S-DIP's to fit in it.

Bye,
