A time ago I've successfully simulated bow-tie monopole with IE3D, it's very easy using this SW. If you want I can find some papers about bow-tie.

Hi, Guys, especially Eirp:

Is this an ultrawideband antenna?

Is there any theoretical limitation on the bandwidth? Suppose I ask for a 10dB band of 2-20GHz, before starting to look for a solution, I need to know whether it is possible.

bow tie antennas

It is wide, but not a decade wide. The old standard pre-1960 books on antennas covers this. Try Kraus or Jasik.
