Hello experts,
In our application, we need +/-5V power supply rails. For -5V power supply, I just use +5V regulator positive output as the load GND and use +5V regulator GND as the load -5V power supply. Don't you think this is the most simple solution for -5V power supply? If not, could you tell why this is not feasible?
Thanks in advance.

You can only do it if you have two independent (isolated) unregulated voltages - then you can connect one 5V voltage regulator output as (+5V), it's GND and the second's regulator output as "new" 0V and the second regulator"s GND as (-5V), so from that point of view I can't find this solution to be THE SIMPLEST ..
Simpler solution is when you have positive voltage regulator sitting on the (+) rail and negative voltage regulator sitting on the (-) rail and both sharing one common 0V .. see picture below ..

Hi
This is not a good practice because you dont have a solid ground, the most simple way is to use µa7805 (+ 5 v regulator ) and µa7905 ( - 5v regulator ) , this is optimum.
